Your Questions, Answered

  • Yes. I am not here to replace your partner. Your partner and care provider each play important and valuable roles, and as your doula I am here to support both you and your partner.

Your provider (doctor or midwife) is focused on the medical aspects of your care, while your partner is there to love and support you. As your doula, my role is to provide continuous emotional, physical, and educational support throughout labor and birth.

I help guide your partner so they feel confident in how to support you, offer comfort measures and positioning throughout labor, and provide reassurance and encouragement during each stage.

I also help you understand your options as they arise so you can make informed decisions that feel right for you.

Rather than replacing your support system, as your doula, I aim to enhance it; creating a more supported, calm, and empowered birth experience for everyone involved.

  • I offer compassionate, evidence-based support for mothers throughout pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period.

    My services include:

    • Birth + Postpartum Doula Support

    • Breastfeeding Support + Education

    • Private Birth Education

Each service is designed to provide emotional support, physical comfort, and education so you feel informed, confident, and empowered throughout your journey into motherhood.

  • At Empowered Mama Co., my approach is rooted in education, support, and truly honoring each mother’s unique journey.

I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all birth experience. Instead, I focus on helping you become informed and confident in your decisions so you can create a birth and postpartum experience that aligns with your values, desires, and vision.

My support goes beyond just being present during labor. I walk alongside you throughout your pregnancy, helping you understand your options, build confidence, and feel prepared for whatever direction your birth may take.

I am deeply passionate about informed consent and making sure you feel heard, respected, and empowered when making decisions about your body and your baby.

As a mother myself, I understand how transformative this season can be, and I provide compassionate, non-judgmental support not only for you, but for your partner and your entire family.

  • At this time, I do not accept insurance directly. However, some insurance plans may offer partial reimbursement or provide benefits that can be used toward doula services.

Because doulas provide non-medical support, most insurance companies do not automatically cover doula care.

That said, some families are able to use:

    • HSA or FSA accounts

    • Employer-sponsored benefits (such as fertility or maternity programs)

    • Reimbursement through certain insurance plans

    • Medicaid programs in select states

Coverage varies widely depending on your specific plan, so I recommend contacting your insurance provider to ask about your individual benefits.

If needed, I can provide an itemized receipt (superbill) for you to submit for potential reimbursement.
